Do you have any other comments or thoughts : background on kirk
kirk is my younger brother by six years (he is 33) and has been living with me for the last 18 months. we are from a family of five plus mum and dad. we migrated here as a family in 1986 from india. this is kirk's first marriage. kirk is the last child and very spoilt, he is mum and dad's golden boy. i was the youngest for six years so when kirk arrived it was a real change for me, i used to pinch him when no one was looking and he still has the scars. after finishing his degree in Au, kirk went and lived in london for a couple of years. kirk has lots of friends and at the wedding there will be friends from school, from uni, from work from golf and ones he met along the way.in terms of family my mum and dan are gladys and chippy and brothers and sisters are sharon, roland, bev and karen (me). kirk was 10 when we arrived in australia. there will be a lot of extended family at the wedding, uncles and aunts and cousins from both mum and dads side.
background on marian
marian is italian, she is 32 years old. her parents (Connie and Guido)migrated from italy separately and met here and got married in the same church that kirk and marian are getting married. Marian has an older brother Jiroc and a younger sister Marian, both are living at home. her father and brother are hairdressers and own a salon in st. Marys. Marian's mother is a fantastic cook. her parents have worked very hard and have a great home and family to show for it. Marian is also very spoilt, her mum and dad do everthing for her including her washing and ironing. she and kirk are going to find it quite a change living together and doing everything for themselves. btw, my mum sends kirk and me meals (curries) on the weekend for the week so kirk and i do not cook during the week.
background on the couple
first wedding for both and both have not lived with anyone prior to this. both are catholic. they met in church and kirk proposed in church. marian had her first indian meal after meeting kirk. marian is still living at home. she will really miss her mum and her mum will really miss her. she and her mum have morning chats daily, its a bit of a ritual. marian has been waiting/preparing for her wedding day all her life. both she and kirk have the same values and are very family focussed. they are going on a honeymoon to europe, its marian's first trip overseas. its quite cute that even though kirk has travelled a lot, he found marian in the local church that he has been going to for years - it was meant to be.
the wedding is quite a huge production, with 280 guests
